What does an ordinary workday look like for you?
I wake up at 7am and spend my morning catching up on things I want to read, scrolling through social media, and addressing anything urgent.
I have a template that I’ll copy over into my Daily Notes in Roam Research where I record how many hours I slept, go through my SAVERS checklist (Silence, Affirmation, Visualization, Exercise, Reading, and Scribing), and then write down any random thoughts I have and things I need to do that day
Monday and Tuesday I use for podcasting and writing, Wednesday is for meetings, Thursday is for consulting, and Friday is for tying up loose ends. This all sounds very structured and disciplined but it’s messier than I’d like to admit.
What are some of your favorite marketing tools or resources?
As far as tools I go, I really love Webflow for it’s flexibility and customization. It makes a marketer like me feel like a pro web designer and gives me the control I need to make changes and adjustments on the fly.
I also love SavvyCal for scheduling meetings as I can personalize links for recipients and display preferred meeting times.
Gotta shoutout Roam, Mailbrew, and mymind for all my personal knowledge management as well.
If I could only recommend one book it would be Obviously Awesome by April Dunford and for one podcast it would be Akimbo by Seth Godin.
What is the best piece of marketing advice you’ve ever received?
It wasn’t advice directly for me but once I heard that I should start getting back to the basics of human psychology, copywriting, and persuasion, it sent me down a path that changed the way I fundamentally thought about marketing in a positive way.
